What is NMEF?

•  Began as an NMSPE effort
•  Run by a board of directors

 NMEF Objectives

• Conduct and support educational programs in engineering
• Grant scholarships, provide guidance, support mathematics and science related competitions, and by other means encourage worthy students to pursue training in scientific fields leading to engineering fields
• Foster, promote and preserve the profession on engineering through the dissemination of educational information in all its forms, and;
• Serve as a catalyst for the advancement of engineering education.

 How Does the Foundation Operate?

• Funds come into the Foundation through company, organizational or personal contributions.
• Contributions may go into the General Fund or may be specified for a region of the state or for a specific program.
• Anyone may request funds from the Foundation for qualified educational programs
• The Board of Directors allocates the General Funds according to the wishes of contributors and the needs and value of the programs
• Fundraising by the Foundation is on going; this eliminates competition between groups for limited dollars.
• As a nonprofit organization, the Foundation uses all funds to support engineering programs.
